After getting our Passport Request (PPR) last February 6, 2017, and submitting our passports on February 9, we were surprised to learn about the speedy return of our documents last Monday, February 20, 2017. Our agency then invited us back to their office yesterday to pick up the passports, along with our landing papers and other documents. We’re moving to Canada!
All in all, it only took twelve days for our passports to get back to us with our Immigrant Visas. We were told that this was processed pretty fast and it was probably due to the light load that the Canadian Embassy typically has during this time of the year.
Honestly, there’s still a part of me that can’t believe that we finally have our visas. It ‘s been almost two years since we decided to go for it and it really hasn’t fully sunk in yet. My emotions are all over the place right now, with excitement, happiness, relief, fear, sadness all just randomly make their presence felt without warning.
It’s now time for us to start planning out how to deal with everything in preparation for leaving. We want to leave around the 2nd week of June to take advantage of PEI’s summer climate, so the next few months are going to be very busy with us probably running all over the city making sure everything that needs to be settled is done before we leave.
We just want to take this time and thank each and everyone of you that took the time to read our blog and share our journey from the tropics to the rockies. We’re not there yet of course and there’s no way that we will stop sharing with you guys, because this has really been our only outlet to talk about our plan to move to Canada. The only ones who know about it are our immediate family members. We haven’t even told our closest friends, so you guys definitely take up a very special space in our hearts. 🙂
